It’s important to track down your children or grandparents if they’re lost or stuck. You can also track their location using iPhone.
We don’t always want you to spy on your children or elders. Instead, you can track your family member’s location without ruining them, add geofencing, and more with your iPhone.

Before you continue and use the Find My service from Apple, you must set up Family Sharing in the Settings menu.
Stage 1: Open the iPhone Settings app.
Step 2: Go to your Apple ID.
Stage 3: Select Family Sharing.

As the name suggests, Apple’s Find My service is also useful when you have more than one Apple device. Use the Find My app and track seamlessly.
2. FamiSafe (Freemium)
While Apple’s Find My service works flawlessly, it has some limitations. For example, you can’t see battery status, browsing history, add geofences and more on your kid’s phone.
That’s where FamiSafe comes in and offers a complete parental control experience on iPhone.
You need to install an iOS profile on your kids’ phone and pair their FamiSafe account with your main FamiSafe app.
Once everything is set up, you will be able to check the live location of a family member, check the screen time, add a web filter, check the full location history, block inappropriate pictures and more.
You can set geofences and add digital location limit and get notification when the little one exceeds the set location.
Stage 1: Open the FamiSafe app on your iPhone.
Stage 3: Go to the Features tab and go to Location History.
FamiSafe is a subscription-based service. The monthly plan starts at $10.99 per month or $60.99 per year.
3. Google Maps
If you have an iPhone and your family member or child uses an Android phone, you don’t have to worry.
Apple’s Find service doesn’t work on Android. FamiSafe is available on Android, but it is a paid service. For a cross-platform solution, you can use Google Maps to get live locations and track your family members on your iPhone.
To set it in real time and check live location on iPhone, you need to follow the below steps.
Stage 1: Open Google Maps on the phone.
Step 2: Tap the profile picture at the top.
Stage 3: Select Location sharing.
Step 4: Grant the relevant permissions and select Share location.
Share your live location with others and you are ready. You have a choice as to how long you want others to follow you.
For example, you can select 2 hours or 3 hours in the share menu and after that the live location will be disabled.
Parents can see your live location and remaining battery on your Android phone. You can also ask Google Maps to share their location with you.
