How to Take a Screenshot on LG G5

The LG G5 is now available from carriers and retail stores all over the United States, which means millions of buyers have bought one and have many questions. One thing we are asked with every new phone is how to take a screenshot. With that in mind, below are quick and easy instructions for the many different ways to take a screenshot on the LG G5.

The new LG G5 was announced on February 23 and then launched on April 1. It has a radical all-aluminum frame and a modular design with a sliding tray at the bottom for the replaceable battery. But the biggest change is the fingerprint scanner on the back and the buttons moved to the sides.

This is the first LG smartphone that hasn’t been behind all the buttons in more than a few years. As a result, it is not very easy to take a screenshot using the usual button combination from previous years. Whether you want to take a screenshot of funny posts on Facebook, memes on the web or even part of an important email, screenshots are an easy way to record something from the LG G5 screen.

If you’ve owned or used an Android device in the last few years, you’ll be at home and probably won’t even have to look for how. However, if you are new to smartphones or have recently switched from an iPhone or Samsung Galaxy to LG, you need to learn how. There are multiple ways to take a screenshot with the LG G5.

For those who are confused. A screenshot (or screenshot) is essentially what our smartphones capture and save on the screen. This can then be edited or cropped to get exactly what you want, making it extremely useful for a variety of uses.

Instructions

Taking a screenshot on the LG G5 isn’t easy, not to mention the buttons on the back and the fingerprint scanner that doubles as the power button, not to mention the high placement of the volume up/down keys. It’s actually very tricky, that’s why they added a one-tap shortcut to the notification dropdown shade.

Those who want to capture what’s on the screen can take screenshots on the LG G5 in three different ways. Press and hold the power (fingerprint scanner) and volume down buttons at the same time. This is a method that has been used for years, but it is quite difficult to do this on the LG G5. Also there is LG Quick Capture button in notification bar or use Google Assistant. We will explain all of them further in more detail.

Briefly press and hold the power and volume down buttons at the same time and release; You will see the animation on the screen and hear the screenshot. This much. Your phone saves what is viewed and can be accessed from the photo gallery. From here you can share as you wish or switch to edit mode and crop the edges while adding some flair with any of the many editing tools available on Android.

This method, which has been on Android for years, was difficult on the LG G5, so we have an easier way. Simply slide down the notification bar by swiping down from the top of the screen. At the top is a list of settings shortcuts, and LG added one called “Capture” this year. Open an email or the screen you want to record, pull down the bar and tap the Capture button on the pop-up bar. It will disappear, take a screenshot and then let the owners edit the image as usual. Last but certainly not least, we can take a screenshot and share it instantly with a simple tap using Google Assistant. Long press the circular “home” softkey, which is the Google Assistant. First-time users will need to enable it, and we recommend everyone to do so, as Google Assistant is extremely useful for speed dials.

Long press the home button and Google Assistant will open, analyzing whatever is on the screen and giving search results for it. Like a movie in a text message with movie times nearby, or directions to a restaurant. Really strong. However, there’s also the stock Android “Share” button, which consists of two lines connecting them. Tap this and Google will instantly take a screenshot of the screen and simultaneously open the share menu.

From here, owners can instantly text the screenshot, email it, upload it to Facebook, and more. It is very fast, easy and useful. Google Assistant can do many things and has tons of voice actions, so give your LG G5 a try today.

Users can find a folder named “Screenshot” in the gallery with all the screenshots and share or edit from there. Using Google Assistant personally is the easiest for me because it can be done with one hand, but choosing between three options to take a screenshot on the LG G5 should be quick and easy for all owners.
