This quick guide will explain how to take a screenshot on Google’s impressive new Pixel and Pixel XL. New owners will have many questions and one of them is always how to take a screenshot. Read on for quick and simple steps to take.
On October 4, Google introduced its own smartphones. Made by Google inside and out. Now that the phone is ready, one of the many things you’ll want to learn to do is take a screenshot. Below is a general setup guide for new users as well.
The easiest way to share a funny picture, save an email, or send someone a copy of the text is to take a screenshot. Basically capturing and recording what is shown on the screen. It’s extremely useful and really easy to do once you know how to do it. It’s been the same on most Android devices for years, but new Pixel owners or first-time Android buyers will need to know how.
If you own other Android devices, you already know how. That said, the Pixel offers enough for some iPhone owners to switch to. If so, the process will be slightly different. Below are the steps to take a screenshot on Google Pixel.
For those who are confused. A screenshot (or screenshot) is when our smartphones capture and record what’s on the screen. It can then be edited, saved, shared and more. This is a very useful feature.
Instructions
It’s really easy and it’s enough to long press several buttons at the same time.
All the owners have to do is press both the power button and the volume down key at the same time. Push both at the same time, pause for a moment and release. This can be difficult because they are both on the same side, but it is easy once you master the timing. You will hear a camera shutter sound and see a visual screen capture animation. Then it will be saved in the gallery and can be accessed from the notification popup bar.
Both buttons are the same size, so you may need to use both hands. Perfecting timing for beginners may take a few tries, but it’s easy once you get the hang of it. In some cases it makes this difficult as there are more button presses than you want, so keep that in mind if the sound settings keep showing up instead of the screenshot.
When a screenshot is taken, pull down the notification pop-up bar to view, share, or even edit. More options will also be available in Google Photos for adding filters and the like before posting to social media.
If these steps don’t work, try again. It’s all about pressing and then releasing the power and volume down buttons simultaneously with a short pause. Timing is everything.
This much. This same method works on almost all Android smartphones and tablets not manufactured by Samsung. Devices with a home button usually use Power+Home instead of volume down.
