How to Take a Screenshot on Galaxy Note 7

In this quick guide, we’ll explain how to take a screenshot on the Galaxy Note 7 and use some of the more advanced screenshot and S-Pen features. With the Note 7 now ready to go, owners have a lot of questions. One task everyone wants to know is to take a screenshot, take the new floating “full page” screenshot and use the GIF maker. Easy steps can be found below.

On August 2, Samsung introduced the Galaxy Note 7, its best Note ever. It has added twice the storage, water resistance, an Iris eye scanner for better security, a microSD slot, and a large battery to its phablets. When you buy yours, you’ll want to learn about everything it has to offer.

This trick is familiar to almost all Android users, but Samsung uses a different method than most. Galaxy Note 7 screenshot function can be done in many different ways. One is a palm-swiping gesture on the screen, a button combination many have been using for years, and the third is a scrolling screenshot. Read on for quick instructions.

If you’ve used a Samsung Galaxy phone in recent years, this won’t be anything new, but an iPhone converting or previous Android smartphone owner will want to know how. This will show you how to take a screenshot, screenshot or video card, whatever you want to call it.

This trick allows us to capture and record whatever is on the screen. This can then be edited or cropped to get exactly what you want, shared with a friend, and with the Note 7 we can even take a screenshot of the video and turn it into a GIF.

Instructions

Recording screenshots on Samsung smartphones is very simple. All you have to do is . Briefly press and release both buttons at the same time, then the screenshot sound and animation will come. This much. Now find it in your photo gallery or notification bar above to share, edit or view.

There is a second method that is even easier, but I find myself using the above method the most. Samsung has smooth gestures with the Galaxy Note 7 (and all Galaxy phones) working great. Swiping the edge of your hand across the entire screen will also capture a screenshot. Many owners do this by accident and don’t know what they’re doing, but it’s actually a feature. The picture below explains it a bit more.

If this is something you accidentally do often, go to Settings > Advanced Features > disable the Palm Swipe Capture feature and use the aforementioned button combination.

Scrolled Screenshot on Galaxy Note 7

Continuous or scrolling screenshot was introduced with the Note 5 and now works on all new 2016 Samsung Galaxy devices with or without the S-Pen. This option allows owners to take a screenshot of an entire email, web page, book, and more. With this, users can take a screenshot much longer than what is displayed on the screen, and it is extremely easy.

Pull out the S-Pen pen and tap on the “Screen Writing” option. This will instantly take a screenshot of whatever is on the screen. Then an edit mode will appear with options at the top and bottom of the screen. Select “Scroll Capture”. Or do the same without the S-Pen after using one of the original screenshot methods mentioned earlier. This will capture the whole page and automatically scroll down. Let us capture as little or as much as we want.

Capture more of the screen and take down an entire email, website, and more. This is a great way to record an entire text conversation without taking 15 screenshots. It is one of the many features of the Note 7 and S-Pen stylus.

Create a GIF on Note 7

That last one isn’t technically a screenshot, but in a way it is, and the same ground rules apply. We can make a GIF by capturing a video directly on the Galaxy Note 7 screen. Keep the video in the background, then keep pulling out the pen. When the drop-down menu appears, tap on “Smart Selection” just above the Screen Typing option we just used. This will give you multiple options and select “GIF” in the top right as shown below.

Then place the box where you want to save it, press play on video if still not playing and then save and capture the video playing on Note 7. This will instantly take a video screenshot and a GIF to share it on social media. Perfect for funny moments, events and other things. Note the notice not to use this tool for copyright infringement. This is one of our favorite new features on the Galaxy Note 7.
