How to Stop Nagging Windows 10 Updates

Microsoft’s decision to send regular updates to Windows computers with Windows 10 was commendable in the past as it was not known to provide regular updates. However, Windows 10 updates have become so frequent that they are now considered a nuisance. Combine the update frequency with Windows starting to automatically install updates at random times and you have a disaster. I hate new Windows 10 updates so much that I went out of my way to find a way to prevent them from happening. If you are also tired of constant Windows 10 updates, here is how you can stop Windows 10 updates from interfering with your work.

How Does Windows 10 Update Work?

Before we see how we can disable Windows 10 updates, let’s find out how it works. Windows has something called Orchestrator that schedules and downloads updates. We have already seen all kinds of tutorials where we change the group policy to prevent windows update. But the sad part is that Windows overrides its own group policy to download and install updates.

Now this is just a rough simplification of what actually happened as I don’t want to go into too much technical detail. However, I hope this can help you understand why Windows 10 updates have become such a big issue. Now that you know that, let’s disable Windows 10 Updates once and for all.
