How to Show Meeting Time in Zoom 1

How to Show Meeting Time in Zoom

There is no doubt that it belongs to the video calling applications of the year 2020. Software such as Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and Google Meet have skyrocketed in download and use. Today, many people use Zoom to hold job interviews, attend seminars, music concerts, stay in touch with friends and family, and more. When you are in an important meeting on Zoom, you need to keep track of the time and duration of the Zoom session.

The meeting time function is useful for those who want to keep track of the time for their Zoom meeting. For example, teachers can look at the time for 30 minutes or 45 minutes and then cancel today’s Zoom lesson. You can also track how long the Zoom conference lasted.

By default, Zoom does not show the meeting time in the app. You need to enable the option from the Settings app. Third-party apps can also be used to enable the timer during Zoom meetings.

In this post, we will show you how to use enable meeting time in Zoom and other tricks. Lets start.

Show Meeting Time in Zoom Dekstop

As I mentioned earlier, Zoom does not enable meeting time by default. Therefore, you depend on either the alarm, the reminder, or the manual forecast to control the duration of the meeting. However, Zoom has added an option to enable meeting time in the app. Follow the steps below.

Stage 1: Open the Zoom app on Windows or Mac.

Step 2: Tap the profile icon in the top right corner and go to Settings.

Stage 3: Go to General > Show my meeting time and enable the option.

Now every time you hold a Zoom meeting, you will see the meeting time in the upper right corner.

Let’s clear this up. The duration function is activated only by you. That is, as a host or participant, you can see the meeting duration in a Zoom session. Other users cannot see the same on their side. Maybe you can share this post with others or guide them using the steps above.

Enable Meeting Time in Zoom Mobile Apps

Due to its cross-platform availability, Zoom is also famous on the small screen. Users who do not always have desktop access prefer the Zoom mobile app to join a meeting. If you follow in the defined category, follow the steps below to enable Zoom meetings on Android or iOS.

Note: Both the Android and iOS Zoom apps have the same user interface and are the same in feature set. The screenshots below are from the Zoom iOS app, but you can follow the same steps in the Android app to enable meeting time.

Stage 1: Open the Zoom app on iPhone/Android.

Step 2: Go to Settings from the bottom tab.

Stage 3: Go to Meeting and scroll down from the menu below.

Step 4: Enable Show My Connection Time. The option will show the elapsed time in the meeting.

Now to host or join a Zoom meeting, go back and you will see the meeting duration in the upper right corner.

The timer trick is useful for users on Zoom’s Basic plan (which most of us use). Zoom offers a free version that almost no competitors do, and even allows users to host up to 99 members and chat with them for 40 minutes.

Show Meeting Controls in Zoom

You may have noticed that during an ongoing Zoom meeting, the meeting controls are automatically hidden and this can be annoying when you want to access important meeting controls such as Zoom Screen sharing, Zoom Mute, Reactions, and more. Below are the steps to fix meeting controls in Zoom.

Stage 1: Open the Zoom app on the desktop.

Step 2: Tap on the profile menu and go to Settings.

Stage 3: Go to General.

Step 4: Enable Always show meeting controls option.

You will now see fixed meeting controls in the Zoom app. Alternatively, you can master the Zoom keyboard shortcuts to access important Zoom options during a video call.

As expected, you can enable fixed meeting controls in the mobile app as well. However, I wouldn’t recommend doing this on the small screen to consume significant screen space during Zoom meetings.

Main Zoom Meetings

Keeping track of time during meetings is extremely important so that you can make the most of the limited time everyone invests. It helps you complete your meetings before the 40-minute interruption. You can also use this saved time to manage other activities. Have you enabled the timer in Zoom meetings? How do you use the function in Zoom? Share your zoom routine in the comments section below.
