Microsoft is finally adding the option to let users quickly share tabs between devices in Edge. This feature has been in testing for months and is currently live for a limited number of users on Edge’s stable channel. If you’re someone who uses Microsoft Edge on both desktop and mobile, here’s how you can seamlessly share tabs to pick up where you left off.
Share Tabs Between PC and Mobile in Microsoft Edge (2021)
Microsoft Edge isn’t the first browser to add tab sharing. In fact, Google Chrome has had this feature for years. However, it’s good to see the tab sharing feature making its way to Microsoft’s web browser. That said, let’s start with steps.
note: Microsoft is gradually introducing tab sharing on Edge’s stable channel. For this demonstration, I used Edge Canary version 93.0.931.0 on PC and Edge Canary version 93.0.930.0 on Android.
Send tabs from PC to Mobile on Edge
1. Open a web page and click to highlight the address bar. At that time, you will see a new “Submit this page” button in the right corner. Click on it to select your device.
2. Select the device to which you want to send the web page from the device selector interface that appears. In a few seconds you will get the tab on your mobile device. It is worth mentioning that with the Edge browser you can follow the same steps to share tabs with other computers.
Send Tabs from Mobile to PC in Edge
For those wondering how to send Edge tabs from your Android or iOS phone to your PC, here’s how to do it.
1. Open a web page in Edge mobile, tap the horizontal ellipsis menu at the bottom center and Select “Send to devices”.
2. Select your other device linked with the same Microsoft account, and then Tap “Send” You will see a confirmation message in a few seconds to share the tab.
3. You will get the shared tab as a notification on your target device, similar to what you see in the image attached below:
