How to Share Google Calendar with Others

There may be times when you want to share Google Calendar with others, let you know about your availability or your upcoming monthly schedule. For example, you have created a customized vacation calendar for employees and now you want to share it with them. Here’s how you can share Google Calendar with others.

Let’s say you have a pottery tradition in the family and you created the upcoming meeting for two months. And now Google Calendar is ready to share with family members. Add Calendar to Google Calendar

First, we’ll show you how to create a new calendar in Google Calendar. In most cases, you will not want to share your primary calendar with others.

You may need to create a new calendar for sharing purposes. Follow the steps below to add a new calendar to Google Calendar.

Stage 1: Visit Google Calendar on the web and sign in with your Google account information.

Step 2: Click on the Settings gear at the top and select Settings.

Share Google Calendar

After adding events and tasks to Google Calendar, everything is ready for sharing. Follow the steps below to add contacts to your Google Calendar.

Stage 1: Visit Google Calendar in a browser.

Step 4: When you add other people’s Gmail ID, you have many permission options to choose from.

See only available/busy: This hides the event details and instead shows the current busy status. The remaining space is shown as free time. This is most convenient when you want to let other people know about your free availability for a Zoom call.

See all event details: Attendees will be able to see all event details, but will not have any editing permissions to change the event name, time or location.

Make changes to events: This allows others to change event details. But it will restrict them from adding others to the calendar.

Make changes and manage sharing: Be careful when using this option. It will allow added contacts to unlimited and add others to Google Calendar.

When you want to share Google Calendar with hundreds of people, manually adding each Gmail ID to the calendar doesn’t make much sense. In this case, you can create a shareable Google Calendar link and paste the link into a Slack or Teams channel for everyone to join. Here’s how.

Stage 1: Open Google Calendar on the web and click the three-dot menu next to the calendar you want to share.

Step 2: Select Settings and sharing.

Add Google Calendar to Your Account

After sharing a calendar link with others, they must integrate the calendar into their existing Google Calendar installations.

Stage 1: Visit Google Calendar on the web.

Step 2: Find Other calendars from the left sidebar.

Stage 3: Click the + icon and select From URL.
