Fortunately, there is a workaround for scheduling emails in the Apple Mail app on Mac. In this hands-on guide, I’ll show you how you can schedule an email in the Mac Mail app.
Schedule Emails in Apple Mail with Automator on macOS
First of all, let’s find out how this workaround works! First we will create an Automator application. Then set it to send the generated email at a specific date and time using the Calendar app.
Yes, it contains some workaround. However, when you set the app perfectly, it works reliably. What’s more, you can reuse the Automator app to schedule emails, saving you from reliving the whole process.
Email Setup with Automator on macOS
- start Automator application on your Mac. (Simply search for Automator in Spotlight Search and open it).
2. Now, click new document and Select Application.
3. Next, Movements option is selected in the left sidebar. After that, choose Mail under Library choice.
4. Next, select New Mail Message and then drag it to the workflow area. After that, write the message New Mail Message box. Be sure to enter the email address of the recipient and subject. Then select an account if needed.
Note that you can repeat the same steps to add more messages you want to schedule for the same time.
5. Select Send Outgoing Messages select it from the list and then drag it to the workflow window located below the New Mail Message box.
Next, click File and Select save. Be sure to give your application an appropriate name. Next, select preferred destination and click on save.
Schedule email with Calendar on macOS
After creating the app, you can schedule email using the Calendar app.
- To start, Calendar app on your Mac. Next, go to: Date When you want to send the generated email.
2. After that, create an event on it choose date and preferred time. You can also add invitations, notes, URLs and even attachments depending on your needs.
3. Now, click on time.
4. Next, select Tradition located under To warn collapse.
5. Select in the drop-down box. Open File.
6. Now select the app you just created. click Other and then navigate to the location where the file was saved and then select the application.
7. Make sure you choose At Event Time for alert timing.
8. Finally, click on ok to finish.
That is all! The scheduled email will be sent on the stipulated date and time. Note that the app may ask for your confirmation the first time it’s run. So make sure you give permission.
Note:
- As mentioned above, you can reuse the app to schedule emails a little faster. To do this, start Automator -> open existing document. After that, find the app and click Open. Now make the necessary changes in the New Mail Message box.
- After making the changes, click on File and select the save option. Then add an event to your calendar.
