How to Restart Frozen LG V30 1

How to Restart Frozen LG V30

This guide explains how to reset a frozen LG V30. If your new phone is unresponsive or working, this is how you can fix the problem. LG’s latest phone is powerful and has a lot to offer, but some will run into the occasional problem. Instead of taking it to a carrier store for help, follow our quick steps.

Unlike the LG V10 or V20, the new premium all-metal and glass V30 is water resistant. This means that the phone is completely turned off including the battery. If the phone is frozen, the battery can no longer be removed.

Almost every minor issue can be easily fixed with a simple reboot. However, this is not always an option. Sometimes a phone stops responding completely. If your V30 is frozen, the new button combination below will get it working in seconds.

LG has a small notice of this change when you first open the V30. Noting that the V30 has no removable battery, they added a button combination to “reset” or restart the phone if needed. Note that resetting your phone will not delete any data or cause any problems, it just forces the phone to restart.

Press and hold the Power (fingerprint scanner) and Volume down keys simultaneously for 8 seconds or until the phone vibrates and turns off. This works even when the phone is completely frozen or the screen is black. It’s a hard reset and it works no matter what.

Press and hold the buttons for long enough and you will see it turn off, you will feel the phone vibrate, then it will restart and return to full working order. Then LG says “For your protection, do not remove the battery from the phone”. You shouldn’t be able to open the back though, so this is just an extra warning notice.
