How to Restart Frozen LG G7 ThinQ

This guide explains how to restart a frozen LG G7 ThinQ. If your phone is funny, frozen or completely unresponsive, we are here to help. The G7 is a fast and powerful phone, but sometimes problems arise. Instead of taking it to a carrier store for help, follow our quick steps.

A quick reboot fixes almost all minor LG G7 issues, but sometimes you can’t restart your phone. And without the removable battery, there is no clear way to restart your phone if it is completely unresponsive. Whatever the case, our button combination below will get it working in a matter of seconds.

Instructions

Note that resetting (restarting) your phone will not delete any data or cause any problems, it just forces the phone to restart.

Before we start, remember that the LG G7 has a dedicated power button on the right side of the phone. Fingerprint scanner is not a button this time. So, press and hold the Power button and the Volume down keys simultaneously for 8 seconds or until the phone vibrates and turns off. We usually say hold them for 8-10 seconds and you’re ready. This works even when the phone is completely frozen or the screen is black.

Press and hold the buttons long enough and you will see the phone turn off, you will feel a vibration, then it will restart and return to full working order. Then LG says “For your protection, do not remove the battery from the phone”. You shouldn’t be able to open the back though, so this will just pop up as an extra warning.
