Note that this works even when the phone is completely frozen or the screen is black. It’s a hard reset and it works no matter what.
Again, no data is lost or deleted even if all open applications or browser windows are closed. If your phone has been dropped really hard or froze excessively, can restore care or “safe” fashion. Follow the onscreen instructions to “reboot” with the volume keys, then press the power button to select reboot. Be careful in this safe mode because if you choose the wrong line you can factory data reset your phone and wipe everything.
