When I run into a persistent problem that I can’t fix with the usual solutions, the one thing I’ve never been able to try is to factory reset my iPhone. Credit when credit is due, I must say it helped me solve the problem most of the time. Now, with the release of iOS 15, Apple has slightly changed all the settings reset process on iPhone and iPad. Considering how important this feature is to users, here is a quick hands-on guide to help those new to the ecosystem and those new to the latest iteration of iOS. So what happens when you factory reset your iPhone or iPad? And more importantly, does iOS 15 / iPadOS 15 wipe all data on your device? Well, when you factory reset your iOS device, all existing settings will be removed. However, all your media and data remains safe. Therefore, you don’t have to worry about anything. If you don’t mind customizing all the settings from scratch, that’s fine with this approach. That said, check out the steps to reset settings in iOS 15:

  1. To start, Settings app on your iPhone or iPad.

2. Next, select general.

3. Next, scroll down and Transfer or Reset iPhone. This is the change we mentioned above. The ‘Reset All Settings’ option has been moved to ‘Transfer or Reset iPhone’ instead of just ‘Reset’.

4. Tap Next. Reset select from the bottom of the screen and reset all settings from the menu that appears.

5. Next up, from you enter your device password. After entering the password, a bottom menu will appear and – “This will reset all settings. No data or media will be deleted.” Faucet reset all settings again to confirm.

And that’s it. Your iPhone or iPad will now reboot and all your settings will be reset. This method is useful when fixing Bluetooth or Wi-Fi issues on iPhone. You can also use this route if your AirTag is not working or you are not having sound issues on iPhone 12.
