One of the biggest complaints iOS 6 users have ever had about Apple’s new operating system is the new Maps app, which replaces Google Maps as the new local maps app for iOS-powered devices. The software is far from perfect, but fortunately, there is a way that iOS users can help Apple improve the service.
.
It’s no secret that Apple’s new iOS Maps app is full of inaccurate data and bugs. In particular, points of interest, which are icons that appear on maps, are out of place or mislabeled in the new Maps. The Bay Area looks pretty decent, but other countries seem to have a lot of problems.
For example, a user found a water pump in Germany labeled as a gas station.
The company has promised improvements as time goes on, but as Apple tries to improve its first Maps app, users can help with that effort by reporting any bugs they find in the app.
The process is extremely simple and allows iOS 6 device users to submit bugs from within the Maps app.
If you’ve discovered a bug in Apple Maps that you want to report, you’ll want to open the Maps app first.
Then tap the area of interest you want to report. You should be taken to the screen that looks like the screenshot below.
Scroll down and tap the option that will take you to a screen that looks like the one below.
Here you can choose what the problem is. The pin may not be in place or there may be an issue that is not even on the list you want to report.
Additionally, users can report problems with maps themselves, but figuring out where to do so is a bit more difficult.
While in Apple Maps, swipe up from the bottom right corner. When you do this, you will get a screen that looks like the screenshot below.
Located on the right side of the print, it’s hard to see. However, it will take you to another screen where you can submit problems with maps to Apple and possibly their partners.
You will then be taken to a screen like the one below where you can submit a specific issue, whether it’s a problem with directions or a problem with satellite imagery.
Apple doesn’t specifically say what it will do with this data, but at this point we think it will take all the help it can get to improve the Maps app.
Hopefully, Apple’s comeback is quick and it fixes many of the bugs its users have reported.
At this point, Google Maps is not available for iOS 6, and Google Chief Executive Eric Schmidt says Google has “done nothing yet” when it comes to a Google Maps app for iOS; , if a release is coming.

For now, iPhone users who can’t stand Apple Maps can check out five alternatives to the service.
