Netflix’s rise story is as interesting as the best of its original shows. Its journey from merely an online CD distribution service to one of the world’s largest original content producers has been extraordinary. To give you context, in 2017 alone, Netflix will spend six billion dollars on original content. Apart from its original content, one of the major reasons behind the popularity of the service is its feature set and user interface. Both web and mobile apps are really easy to use. The best part is that they track your watch times exactly, allowing you to pick up on your content right where you left off. You can simply go to the “Continue Watching” section and find out what you watched and where you left it.
However, this also introduces a minor issue with Netflix’s apps and web client. Sometimes a movie or series stays in the Continue Watching section even if you have finished it. There is also the case that you start watching the series and stop it halfway because you don’t like the series very much. Finally, sometimes you don’t want people to know what you’re watching (hey, I’m not judging anyone). For these reasons, you may want to remove TV shows and movies from your Continue Watching section. So log in to your Netflix account as we learn How to remove Continue Watching on Netflix:
Remove Continue Watching on Netflix
Netflix makes it really easy for us to remove items from the Continue Watching list. You can remove movies, specific episodes of a series, or the entire series if you want. To do this just follow the steps.
1. Before we begin, I would like to share a screenshot of my Continue Watching list on Netflix. I’m doing this so you can compare this and the final screenshot to see if the method actually works. In the picture below you can see that there are 3 items on my list (1 movie and 2 shows). We will remove a movie and a TV show to explain how you can do both.
2. First open the browser and login to your Netflix account. Now, click the dropdown button in the top right corner of the page. Click here “Account” Press the button to open the account settings page.

3. Scroll down to find it. “MY PROFILE” department and Click the “View event” button.

4. Here you can see a log of all your watch history. To remove any item from the Continue Watching list, Click the ‘X’ button to the right of the item name.

5. As soon as you click the ‘X’ button, that item will be removed from your Continue Watching list. For example, I removed “American Sniper” from my list.

6. When removing a series from the list, click the ‘X’ button next to any of its episodes. It goes without saying that the section in question will be removed from the list. But when you click the button, Netflix also offers the option to remove the entire series from the Continue Watching list.as shown in the picture.
7. Click the “Remove TV Shows” button and all TV shows will be removed from the Continue Watching list. This feature is really useful as you don’t have to remove all partitions individually.

8. Now, let’s take a look at the screenshot of my Continue Watching list and see if the items have been removed.

As you can see, the items have been removed from the list. However, it may take some time to reflect the changes on all your devices.
Delete Continue Watching on the Netflix App
If you are wondering how you can remove the continue watching items in the Netflix app, there is no such option in the app. However, when you remove items from the “Continue Watching” section of Netflix in the web client, the same should be mirrored in the Netflix app on Android and iOS. Netflix says it will be done in 24 hours, but I think it’s much faster than that. In any case, you can always refresh the application to load the changes immediately.
