WhatsApp is a great messaging app with a ton of features, including support for both voice and video calls. We use it every day because it is convenient and works. However, there is one feature that has been missing for a while, which is call recording. Of course, there is great concern about surveillance and abuse of call logs, but sometimes we desperately need it. There are a few workarounds if you want to record WhatsApp calls, but it’s not full proof as it also depends on the smartphone you’re using. That being said, it’s your best bet right now. Here’s how you can record WhatsApp calls on Android and iPhone in 2020.

Record WhatsApp Calls on Android (New Method)
Earlier, we wrote a detailed guide on how to record WhatsApp calls on Android devices. We were using a third party app to record WhatsApp calls. However, the app was not compatible with many Android devices and had some VoIP issues. That’s why we came a simple technique This allows you to record WhatsApp calls on Android without any fraudulent solution.
We are going use screen recorder To capture voice conversation during WhatsApp calls. It works surprisingly well and doesn’t have a straightforward setup. We have successfully tested this method on the OnePlus 7T running Android 10 and the Mi A1 running Android Oreo. Therefore, we are sure that it will work on all new Android versions. With that in mind, let’s move on to the steps now.
1. a built-in screen recorder If your Android device comes with it. In case your smartphone doesn’t come with a native screen recorder, you can download the Screen Recorder – No Ads app (Free).
2. Open the Settings page of the screen recorder and make sure you have audio recording enabled. if you Running Android 10 then select “internal audio” as the audio source. It allows you to record WhatsApp calls on Android without having to switch to speaker mode.
3. If you are Doesn’t run Android 10 then select “microphone” as audio source. Note that you need to enable speaker mode in WhatsApp to be able to record calls.
4. After doing that, start screen recording and make a call on WhatsApp. Now enable the speaker if you are running older versions of Android. The screen recorder will start recording the image. voice call from both sides. Once you’re done searching, stop the recording and there it is. Simple!
Record WhatsApp Calls on Android (Old Way)
WhatsApp call recording does not work on every Android device. Some devices have VoIP call recording enabled, some don’t. Just follow the steps and you will know if your phone is supported or not. Also note that devices running on Android Pie may block recording due to OS level restrictions.
1. Install the Cube Call Recorder app (FreeIn-app purchases) and open it. Grant all necessary permissions and you are good to go.
2. Now open WhatsApp and make a call, A widget should appear on your screen stating that WhatsApp is recording your call.. If the widget does not appear, manually tap the microphone icon in the Cube Recorder app. It will then start recording your call.
3. In some cases there is no sound on the other hand in the recordings. To fix this issue, Tap on the hamburger menu and open “Record”. Change the VoIP recording audio source to Microphone. Note that it will also turn on the speaker.
Besides WhatsApp calls, you can also use this app to record cellular calls. In our tests, WhatsApp call recording worked flawlessly on both the Mi A1 and Redmi Note 6 Pro without changing the default settings.
Record WhatsApp Calls on iPhone
iOS is pretty strict when it comes to privacy, so there is no easy way to record calls on iPhone, be it WhatsApp calls or cellular calls. However, there is a hack that accomplishes the task but requires a lot of work. It’s a tedious process where you’ll need a Mac, iPhone and a secondary smartphone with a WhatsApp account. The secondary device can be Android or iPhone. We need a secondary device as your primary device will stay connected to your Mac for recording.
1. Connect your iPhone to Mac and grant necessary permissions. Now, Open QuickTime and click the File menu. Here select “New Audio Recording”, select your iPhone as the source and click the record button.
2. From your iPhone, place a WhatsApp call on your secondary WhatsApp device. Once connected, use WhatsApp’s group calling feature to add the person you want to talk to.
3. Now continue talking using the secondary device. After you finish speaking, stop the recording in Quicktime and save it to your Mac.
Note: Keep iPhone connected to Mac throughout the entire conversation. Also, all three WhatsApp numbers must be active in the group call. Disconnecting any device will prevent recording.
