The smartphone has become a mobile companion that replaces almost all your other devices. Thus, for the vast majority of users, the smartphone has become the #1 tool for playing video games. Now, however, the haptic experience isn’t always ideal, and some games are much more enjoyable when played with a controller.
We already showed you how to play on Android with a PS4 controller. Today With Nintendo Switch Joy-Con We will show you how to have fun. Be careful though, you can only truly enjoy it with a rooted smartphone. If it’s not your terminal, we tell you everything here.
Then, to be able to play with your Joy-Con on your Android smartphone or tablet, all you need is an app and a few simple manipulations.
Joy-Con Enabler: an app to play your Android games with Nintendo Switch controller
After rooting your smartphone, go to Play Store to download the Joy-Con Enabler app. Developed by a very active member of the XDA forum, this app will allow you to use both Joy-Cons simultaneously on your Android smartphone or tablet.
Know that in all games you have to put your hand in your pocket for everything to work flawlessly. The Pro version of the app costs just over 2 euros. A lower investment when you see the possibilities the app has to offer.
After installing the application, simply follow the suggested steps. First, pair the two Joy-Cons with your smartphone or tablet via bluetooth.
Next, the app will offer you to configure the Joy-Con as a keyboard. Do this, this will allow you to navigate games both on your Android terminal and thanks to the locally recognized Joy-Con.
Before you go to the game, you can check directly in the app that all the controls are working well. After this verification everything is ready.
Then what you want to do is up to you. We tested the Joy-Con with several Android emulators without any problems. We also tried it with a game like Dead Trigger where the experience is very enjoyable.
If you’re one of the nearly 5 million Nintendo Switch owners and have some time ahead of you, we highly recommend giving the experience a try. The only thing missing is a small shell adapter to fix the Joy-Con like on the console and we have a Nintendo Switch Android.
