After years of annoying struggling, Microsoft has finally brought a clipboard manager called Clipboard History to Windows 10. Although it is great and only works by invoking the “Win + V” keyboard shortcut, for professional users this is not enough. There are many users who want to quickly paste multiple items with keyboard shortcuts without ever opening the clipboard manager. So, if you are one of those users, here is a simple guide that lets you paste multiple items with assignable hotkeys. Having said all that, let’s review the guide.
Paste Multiple Items with Keyboard Shortcuts in Windows 10
1. We will use an app It is called exactly (Free). It is one of the best Windows 10 apps and a powerful clipboard manager. So go ahead and download the app.
2. After that, open the Ditto app. If you get any security warnings, allow it. Note that every time you open the app, it will move to the system tray and sit there. So you will only need to access Ditto from the system tray. Moreover press ctrl + ~ (tilde) to open the application.
3. After the application opens, click on the 3-dot menu and click “Options“.
4. Here, go to the “Keyboard Shortcuts” tab. You can now assign keyboard shortcuts to paste individual items. To assign a hotkey, simply Click on “None” Next to “Position 1” and press the keyboard shortcut you want to invoke. For example, I pressed Ctrl+1 to paste the first item into the clipboard. You can choose your own.
Note: In terms of operating system configuration, the right number pad is different from the top row number keys on the keyboard. So if you create shortcuts using the top row number keys, use that key only when pasting items.
5. In this way, 10 keyboard shortcuts to paste 10 different items from your clipboard. I assigned the Ctrl + 0 keyboard shortcut for the 10th position. Finally, click “OK”.
6. Now go ahead and copy multiple items to your clipboard. For example, my clipboard looks like this.
