Just as smartphones have become essential for productivity, they have become essential for parents to keep kids busy on long trips and errands. Unfortunately, giving your child your Windows Phone can leave you vulnerable to mistakes or changes they make to your device.
Fortunately, Windows Phone 8 enables an option called Kids Corner. With the option enabled, parents can quickly connect their child’s mobile experience to its own separate area, complete with Start Screen and customization options.
Here’s how to turn on Kids Corner on Windows Phone 8 devices so your kids can have fun and keep your information safe at the same time.
Turn on your Windows Phone Settings application.
Tap Children’s Corner The option inside is under System Settings.
Faucet next To skip the Kids Corner description.
Add the content you want inside your Kids Corner App. Tap to select each game, app or album you want to access from Kids Corner. Then tap next.
Faucet Finish.
Your Windows Phone will immediately re-lock and display the Kids Corner area. On the lock screen swipe right to left to trigger Kids Corner when your device is locked. If you have it already enabled, you will need to enter the same PIN you are using on your device.
When you or your child first opens Kids Corner, they will be greeted with a small message reminding them to press the device’s power button to exit Kids Corner.
Kids Corner will now be full of apps and music you decide to add to Kids Corner.
Kids Corner can be customized for your child. Tap Customize Click the tile to add your child’s name, choose an image for the Kids Corner lock screen, or customize the Start Screen colors.
You have enabled Kids Corner on your Windows Phone 8. You can now limit your children’s access to apps and settings on your phone, allowing them to watch their favorite videos and play their favorite games. You don’t need to follow these steps to activate Kids Corner every time. Instead, swipe from right to left on your device’s lock screen whenever you want.
