When you link your AT&T and DirecTV accounts, you’re eligible to save on DirecTV. This is like packaging you can do with Spectrum, Time Warner Cable, Comcast, and other services.
Unlike some packages, you don’t need to have AT&T internet at home for this deal to work. That’s great because the AT&T Internet at my address is incredibly slow compared to what I can get with cable.
You need to link your AT&T and DirecTV accounts on the AT&T website. Use this guide to getting started with the unified billing and account linking process.
Once you’ve done that, you need to sign up for AT&T Unlimited Plus in the AT&T section of the website. This plan starts at $90 a month for one line, but was cheaper than what I paid AT&T for an older plan. I was paying $119 a month for a line at AT&T. Now I pay $90 a month.

In addition to linking your accounts, you can save even more on your DirecTV bill by calling and requesting a discount. Many people think you should threaten to leave DirecTV to get a better deal, but if you just call and ask for a better deal, they will often help you out.
Call DirecTV and have a nice talk with the representative. Use their names when talking to them and tell them you need to save money on your bill.
If they ask, say you really want to keep your current plan. Often times, they will be able to offer a promotion of $10 a month or more off your DirecTV bill without buying any channels or features. You can also enjoy premium channels like Showtime or Starz for a few months or free.
