How to Leave a Group Message on iPhone or iPad
To leave a group message on an iPhone or iPad in iOS 8, you must first open the Messages app on a device running iOS 8 or later. This should get you to all of your threads, both group and one-on-one. Select and open the group message you want to leave.

Next, look in the upper right corner and select the Details tab. This will open a new window with a number of different features. Look a little below and you will see the option to Leave This Conversation. To exit a chat, simply tap this button; Messages will remove you and your iPhone or iPad from the selected Group Message.
