An iOS 8.4 jailbreak has been released, now here’s how to jailbreak iOS 8.4 on your iPhone or iPad using TaiG’s jailbreak tool.
Jailbreak news has been fast-paced over the past week, with an iOS 8.3 jailbreak released last week that has received multiple updates since then. However, with iOS 8.4 just around the corner at the time, the iOS 8.4 jailbreak was something many users were hoping for.
Since the betas of iOS 8.4 are jailbreakable, it was almost certain that the final version of iOS 8.4 would also be jailbreakable, as many believed Apple would not have enough time to patch the exploits.
This is certainly the case, because shortly after iOS 8.4 was released by Apple, TaiG released their iOS 8.4 jailbreak tool just minutes later, proving that the exploit used needed a quick update to work with the latest version of iOS.
In any case, if you want to jailbreak iOS 8.4 on your iPhone or iPad, here’s how to do it using TaiG’s latest jailbreak tool.
before you start
As with the iOS 8.3 jailbreak, there are a few things you need to do before jailbreaking your iOS device.
First of all, it’s incredibly important to back up your iPhone or iPad before jailbreaking it, that way if something goes wrong, you can restore your device to a stable state and try jailbreaking your device again.
Check out our handy guide on how to back up your iPhone or iPad, but if you’ve been a long-time iPhone or iPad owner, you probably already know.
After backing up your iPhone or iPad, you will want to update your device to iOS 8.4. If you’re already jailbroken on iOS 8.3, here’s a guide on how to update your jailbroken iPhone or iPad. This will remove the jailbreak, but when you update, you can follow the guide below to jailbreak iOS 8.4. The process is already quite simple. Just open iTunes and update your device to iOS 8.3 as you would any other time, as it doesn’t matter whether your iPhone or iPad is jailbroken or not.
The next thing you will want to do is to disable passcode lock on your device and disable Find My iPhone. For password, go to your password to confirm and re-enter your password. To disable Find My iPhone, go to and turn it off. You must enter your Apple ID password to confirm.
At this point, you’re all set to go and you can now start jailbreaking your iPhone or iPad in iOS 8.4.
How to Jailbreak on iOS 8.4?
Go to TaiG’s website and Download the iOS 8.4 jailbreak tool on the home page. The version will be 2.2 and will be downloaded as a .ZIP file and extracted as an .EXE file. Note that this will only work on Windows and not Mac. Check out our other guide to jailbreak on Mac.
Double-clicking the .EXE file will open the jailbreak tool. From there, you will see two checkboxes, one of which is the Cydia option that you cannot change. Make sure to uncheck the box next to it though, as it’s bloatware.

From there, click it and let the process do its thing. It will take a few minutes to complete and your device will reboot several times. Finally, you will receive a message.
If at any point you get a message saying your storage is almost full after jailbreaking your iPhone or iPad, simply open Cydia and let the file system start, then reboot. After that, you should no longer receive the message.
You can now exit the jailbreak tool to get back all your apps and settings and then restore a backup on your device. It is ideal to jailbreak your iPhone or iPad on a clean and wiped device, otherwise you may encounter problems during the jailbreak process.
The iOS 8.4 jailbreak should last through the summer until iOS 9 comes out in the fall, which is good news for jailbreakers because the latest version of iOS is now jailbreakable and is likely the last major update iOS 8 will see.
