iPhone Dev-Teams Redsn0w tethered jailbreak works with iOS 6 on select devices. Unfortunately, while the jailbreak is only available for a handful of devices, we think the team is working hard to achieve compatibility with even more devices.
New Easier iOS 6 Jailbreak Released With Cydia
The current version of Redsn0w, a jailbreak tool, has been confirmed to work with iOS 6 on select devices running A4 processors; This means that users of the iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, and fourth-generation iPod touch can jailbreak iOS 6 today. .

Those using an iPhone 4S are out of luck right now and will have to wait for a jailbreak, which should arrive at some point down the road. Also, those using an iPad 2, iPad 3 or iPhone 5 will not be able to take advantage of this tool.
In short, jailbreak frees your iPhone from limitations imposed by Apple and the carrier of the device such as AT&T, Sprint or Verizon. Despite being legalized, jailbreaking will void your warranty, so keep that in mind before you take the plunge.

The jailbreak tool you will use, Redsn0w 0.9.13dev4, is a connected jailbreak. This means you will need to connect your device to a jailbroken computer every time you power it on.
An untethered jailbreak for iOS 6 is likely at some point, but a release date is currently unknown.
With that said, let’s move on to how to jailbreak iOS 6 for iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS and fourth generation iPod touch.
- Make sure your device is running iOS 6. You can learn how to get it on your device in our tutorial. Also, make sure you have the latest version of iTunes.
- Back up your device. While jailbreaking is usually pretty simple, something could go wrong and you don’t want to lose your information.
- Next, download the updated version of Redsn0w jailbreak. you can find for Windows and for Match.
- Extract this file and save its contents to your desktop.
- At this point, you’ll want to use that Redsn0w executable. Note that Windows users will need to be in administrator mode.
- When Redsn0w opens, there should be an option for ‘Extras’. You will then want to select the ‘Select IPSW’ option from that screen.
- Follow the onscreen instructions and you will be jailbroken shortly.
