The only problem with this method is that it only works on a few devices versus iPhone 5S and above (but not iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus), iPod Touch 6G, iPad Mini 2. , iPad Mini 3, iPad Air and iPad Pro. So if you have one of these devices running iOS 10.2, Here’s how to jailbreak iOS 10.2 devices:
note: This method is only for use on supported devices running iOS 10.2 and there is no other iOS version. Please make sure you have a complete backup of your device before following this guide. I will not be responsible for any data loss or eventual bricking of your device. Rest assured, I tried this jailbreak on an iPhone 6S running iOS 10.2 and it worked perfectly.
Jailbreak iOS 10.2: Requirements
Before we start jailbreaking your iPhone, let’s talk about the things you’ll need (in no particular order):
- The latest version of iTunes (download)
- Yalu102 IPA file (download)
- Cydia Influencer (download). Make sure you download the one for your operating system.
How to jailbreak iOS 10.2
1. Preparing the iPhone
There are a few things you need to do on your iPhone (or your jailbroken iOS device) before you start the jailbreak process:
- take a backup You should do this in case of Data loss of your iPhone.
- Turn off Find My iPhone. This much “Settings -> iCloud -> Find My iPhone“
- Disable passcode and TouchID. This much “Settings -> Touch ID & Passcode -> Turn Passcode Off“.
2. Jailbreak iOS 10.2
After performing all the above mentioned steps (these are very important, make them!), Now we can move on to the actual jailbreak for iOS 10.2. Follow the steps below:
note: I’m using Cydia Impactor on a MacBook Air running macOS Sierra 10.12.4 Developer Beta, but the process will be similar on other operating systems.
- Connect your iPhone to your computer with USB cable and Launch Cydia Impactor. Make sure your iPhone name is displayed in Impactor. At that time, Drag and drop Yalu102 IPA file into Cydia Impactor.
- You will be asked to enter your information. Apple ID credentials. Simply enter your Apple ID email and password.
- Impactor will start later Signing the IPA fileand it will install on your iPhone.
- Once the process is complete, you will be able to see the following. Yalu102 app on your home screen.
- Go now Settings -> General -> Device Management.
- Here, tap on your Apple ID email and then “Confidence”.
- Next, go to your iPhone home screen, Launch Yalu102 app and tap on “Go”.
- Your iPhone will rebootand you should be able to see “Cydia” on your home screennow.
- If Cydia is not available, launch Yalu102 and tap on “Go” again.
This much. You have successfully jailbroken your iPhone and now you can use the Cydia store to easily install jailbroken apps on your iPhone. There are many great apps in the Cydia store and you can add resources to Cydia to access more jailbreak apps.
