The first developer preview of iOS 11 was released a few weeks ago at WWDC 2017, and now the Public Beta is among us. With iOS 11, Apple introduced tons of new features that the community wanted, such as the customizable Control Center, an updated App Store, a new File Manager, local screen recording, and much more. Apple had previously released a developer beta for iOS devices, but unfortunately it was only available for developer accounts. The good news is that the public beta version that brings iOS 11 for everyone is now available for everyone. Devices Compatible with iOS 11 Public Beta
Here are Apple devices compatible with iOS 11:
- iPhone 7, 7 Plus, 6s, 6s Plus, SE, 6, 6 Plus, 5s
- iPad Pro 10.5 inch, iPad Pro 12.9 inch 2nd generation, iPad 9.7 inch, iPad mini 4, iPad Air 2, iPad mini 3, iPad pro 9.7 inch, iPad Pro 12.9 inch, iPad Air, iPad mini 2
- iPod Touch 6th generation
Preparing Your Device
As always, beta builds come with the tag of being a highly tested piece of code and may not be stable enough To be used as a daily driver. Before exploring the beta world, it is recommended that you: Take a backup of your device.
To backup your iOS device, connect it to your PC/Mac and launch iTunes. In the Backup option, select the option to create and encrypt a full backup to your computer.
Enroll Your iOS Device for iOS 11 Beta
1. From your iOS device, navigate to: beta.apple.com/profile. Here, Register using your Apple ID.
2. Next, tap the button that says. “Download Profile”.
3. After that, follow the on-screen instructions. load profile. Once complete, simply reboot your device to apply the changes.
Update Your Device to iOS 11 Public Beta
1. Once the profile is loaded, navigate to: Settings and tap on General. Once there, tap on Software Update choice.
2. Device now check for updates. Your device is now Available iOS 11 Public Beta Update; download and install.
note: The iOS device may reboot multiple times during installation, but don’t worry, this is normal procedure.
3. And that’s pretty much it. When your device is turned on, your device Updated to latest iOS 11 Public Beta 1.

Ready to Try the iOS 11 Public Beta on Your iPhone or iPad?
iOS 11 Public Beta comes with a revamped Control Center, better notifications, an improved version of Siri, and tons of features like built-in screen recording among other features. I’ve tried Developer Beta before on my iPhone 6s and iPhone 7, and now after using Public Beta 1, I can guarantee it feels much more stable. That said, it’s said to be a beta build after all, so take the word stability here with a pinch of salt.
