As time goes by, our apps use random access memory (RAM), and despite the impressive amount of RAM our phones have these days, we always want more! That’s why we offer you this tutorial that will allow you to optimize your RAM.

Why increase available RAM memory?

Your phone’s RAM is very important, the more you have, the more you can keep processes/apps/tabs etc. you will be able to run it without any problems. Everything on your phone uses RAM, from your operating system (Android) to any app launched.

As you get older your phone will have more and more difficulty supporting the latest generation apps/games and this tutorial can help you make it “better”. Because even if Google has improved the Android system to consume less RAM, it remains fundamental.

How to increase the amount of available RAM?

There are many possibilities to optimize RAM and especially to use less RAM, here is what you need to do.

Don’t use widgets or very little.

Each widget always uses a certain amount of RAM (and even mobile data for some), and although they are very useful, using too many widgets can slow down your phone.

Don’t use “live” wallpapers

These famous animated wallpapers that are usually very beautiful, but with exactly these famous animations, your RAM will take a hit and especially when combined with everything else it is strange to use a “live” wallpaper.

Disable apps you don’t use

Some apps are programmed to start unintentionally and will silently consume your RAM without you realizing it! So feel free to disable apps you don’t use (especially those pre-installed on your phone) to avoid this kind of problem.

Here’s how to disable an app:

  • Come in Settings
  • Later on applications
  • Then select the apps to disable

For unrooted smartphones

If all the tips listed below are not enough, there is an even more radical solution using an app. We chose two that are pretty easy to use and don’t require rooting. With them, you should be able to find your happiness.

cleaning master

Well known to Android users, Clean Master is not only dedicated to RAM management. It is a real toolbox that also lets you delete junk files to free up storage space. This is also its primary function, but the app still has a powerful tool to optimize your phone’s available RAM.

Google Play

To do this, all you need to do is:

  • Launch the Clean Master app
  • Click on RAM percentage or button “device accelerator”. The app will then evaluate how much RAM is possible to free up.
  • click the button “Amplifier”

Memory Booster Lite

As the name suggests, RAM Booster helps free up and boost your smartphone’s RAM. There is a free version and a paid version with more advanced options available in the Play Store priced at 3.29 euros. You are free to choose the latter. However, the free version is more than enough.

Google Play

Just like with Clean Master, you’ll find a button to automate your selection. process to eliminate, but not just because you can select them individually via the middle tab. Be careful not to delete anything though. Also, most of the time automatic optimization will suffice.

For rooted smartphones

If your smartphone is rooted, you will be able to go further in RAM management thanks to the ROEHSOFT RAM-EXPANDER (SWAP) application. Behind this strange name is the term barter. As you know, it is this process that allows to increase the RAM of a PC using part of the hard disk. This is exactly the same thing. You will use some of your SD card storage memory as RAM.

However, it’s a promising app (already enough!) with limitations as you can’t get the RAM beyond 4GB. It is also sold at a price. 7.99 euros on Google Play Store. Don’t forget to check your device compatibility before installing.

Google Play

Please note that you must have rooted smartphone and Class 10 SD card. If so, here’s how to do it:

  • Click the “Optimal Values” button in the lower left to test the features of your device and SD card.

swap
  • Check the “ACTIVE CHANGE” box in the upper left
  • Choose your external SD card

choose swap
  • The SWAP file will then be created. The process is quite long and you should not leave the application during the process.

With these different steps, your smartphone will have less trouble running everything and will undoubtedly appear faster to you. Suggestions ? Questions? Comments made for you!
