There’s a new Start Menu complete with Live Tiles and a power button. Windows 10 allows users to run Windows Store apps from the Desktop as well, and those with a 2-in-1 or tablet can decide which interface is more comfortable to use. Join the Windows Insider Program
To be clear, Microsoft did not announce Windows 10 today. It has been running on Windows 10 in public for months. Last September, Microsoft released early versions of Windows 10 through the Windows Insider Program. The Windows Insider Program allows users to download the latest copies of Windows 10 in exchange for feedback on what’s going on. For example, at the beginning of most actions you take, a small pop-up will appear asking how you like a particular feature or how easy it is to use. In past releases, in large-scale testing of the operating system, Microsoft only released one or two versions prior to release. With the Windows Insider Program, Microsoft is constantly updating Windows 10.

Things to Do Before Buying Windows 10
There are some precautions you should take even before you download Windows 10. Some are pretty simple. It is very important that you understand them all.
First, make sure to back up every file, picture and document on your laptop, desktop or tablet before installing Windows 10. You want a way to undo them if the upgrade goes wrong.
Second, previous versions of Windows 10 Technical Preview break Windows 10’s restore functions. It is very important that you back up the operating system your computer is currently running. Again, this isn’t the final release, and bugs can make it difficult to stay productive with it in the long run.
