How to Get Weather on Ambient Screen on Android P

With Google I/O, we finally got a better taste of the new things coming to Android with Android P. Standby Apps, Adaptive Battery, Digital Balance, a new gesture navigation and much more. However, another nifty addition is the Ambient Display’s weather icon on Android P. Unfortunately, this new weather icon is disabled by default on Android P. So, you want to know how to get this in Ambient of your Android P device? view? So, read on as we show you how to get the weather in an ambient image on Android P:

note: I tested the following method on my Google Pixel 2 running Android P beta 1. The method should remain the same for all other devices running Android P beta.

1. First go to: Settings -> Apps & notifications -> All AppsTap and “Google” application.

2. Now tap . 3-point menu in the upper right corner and then “Uninstall updates”.

3. Now you will get a pop-up notification saying that the app will be replaced with the factory version. Tap on it “OK” to continue.

4. Once this is done, navigate to: Search Google Play Store and Googleor follow this link here. Now, tap on “Update” To update the Google app to the latest version.

5. And that’s it. Your Android P device should now show the weather alongside the date on the Ambient Display.
