With the iPhone X, Apple brought a new futuristic design to its flagship smartphone, not only in terms of hardware, but also in terms of software. Gone are the physical Home button, and with it, most of the usual, time-tested ways of navigating the UI. Instead, there is now a set of gestures that can perform actions reserved for the Home button on other iPhone models.
While many of these gestures are new to iOS, Android users have long had access to apps that can use gesture-based inputs to trigger various actions. If you’re interested, here’s how to get iPhone X’s Return to Home feature on your Android device:
Get the “Swipe Home” Gesture of iPhone X on Android
- To get iPhone X’s Go Home feature on Android devices, download for free ‘All-in-One Movements’ Open the app from the Google Play Store and open it. Once you’ve granted all the necessary permissions, you’ll find three different tabs that organize the different actions you can assign to each action. Since we want to enable Go Home feature, Select the scroll tab and tap the ‘Enable’ toggle this is off by default.
- As you can see in the screenshot below, the app is now grant accessibilityso just tap the giant blue “Tap here to configure” prompt at the bottom To enable accessibility services for the application. (You can also go to Settings > Accessibility). You will be automatically redirected to the app’s accessibility settings options, as shown in the screenshot (right) below, so just tap the toggle switch.
- A warning will be displayed saying that what you are about to do could compromise your privacy (see ‘Note’ later in the article), so do it. Review the warning thoroughly before tapping OK to grant these permissions to the app.
- When you return to the app, you will see this. swipe gestures are now active, so now all you have to do is enable the Swipe to Go Home gesture. To do this, Tap the ‘Subdomain’ checkbox, swiping up from the bottom will bring up a dropdown for what you want to do. tap on a lot The first option under the ‘Action’ tab that says ‘Home’.
- This much! You have successfully activated the Go Home gesture on your Android phone. From now on, you can swipe up from the bottom of your screen to go to the Home screen.
Note: In our testing, the ‘All-in-One Gestures’ app performed admirably, but be aware that it asks for numerous permissions, including the ability to read your keystrokes, which could potentially allow it to access your bank account information. If you are doing any financial transactions from your phone, credit and debit card numbers etc. This may (or may not) be just a technique, but it’s worth a warning.

The iPhone X is a great phone and brings some really great features, but at a high price.
