How to Get New Apple TV Screensavers on Mac

Apple’s new set-top box comes with a host of new features, including an all-new remote, Siri functionality, game support, and a native app store for downloading apps and games directly to Apple TV. However, a new feature that does not receive the attention it deserves is the new screen protector applied by Apple.

Apple has created a handful of new screen savers for the new Apple TV, featuring videos shot from all over the world. It’s a great way to show your TV’s screen when you’re not using your Apple TV, but wouldn’t it be great to take these screenshots on your Mac?

Fortunately, this is now possible thanks to a new open source project that brings the new Apple TV wallpapers to the Mac, and the good news is they’re really easy to install.

The project is called Ariel, and it takes Apple’s new screensavers from the Apple TV and lets you use them as your screensaver on your Mac, so if you have a new 4K or 5K iMac, you can still show off the beauty of the screen with the following. Apple TV screensavers.

There are a few things to keep in mind about these new screen protectors though. Videos are not stored locally on your Mac, but instead streamed from Apple’s servers which means they will use up bandwidth when played.

It’s also important to know that since these are video at their core, they will consume processes on your Mac, so if you have a battery-powered MacBook, it may not be a good idea to leave these new screen protectors on for long periods of time. as they can drain your battery faster than other screen protectors.

Unfortunately, there is currently no way to take these new screenshots on Windows, and they only work on OS X Mavericks and newer, but we hope a Windows version will come sooner or later, although we’re not sure a developer will be interested enough to make them.
