If you’re looking for an all-in-one solution to get notifications, here’s how to get iPhone notifications for just about anything.
Most—if not all—iPhone apps have a feature to notify you about something. If this is a sports app, it provides you with scores and news alerts. If it’s a banking app, it notifies you of payment notifications. However, there is usually something you want to receive notifications from, but no app can do, or at least you don’t want to install a particular app to receive certain notifications.
This is where a new app is called hooks It works. It’s just a notification app and its only feature is to notify you about anything you specify like sports scores, weather, stocks and even Amber alerts.
Here’s how to use Hooks and set custom notifications without having to install loads of other apps to achieve the same functionality.
iPhone Notifications Refreshed
Hooks is a pretty unique app and has personally allowed me to delete some other apps that I use only to get certain notifications about something specific. Now I can delete these apps to free up space while getting the notifications I need.
Hooks lets you get notifications for just about anything like your favorite team’s sports scores (although MLB is sadly left out) when a new episode of your favorite TV show airs, and alerts when it’s going to rain.
To create an alert, simply open Hooks and then click the plus icon in the top right corner. A sidebar will appear listing all the alerts you have set, but it will most likely be blank since you are using the app for the first time. But don’t worry, you will soon fill it up.
In this section, tap on it. You will see a list of alerts that you can customize and add, but you can also search for something specific you want. Otherwise, tapping an alert in the list will bring up more options for that particular alert. For demonstration purposes, a .
Tapping this option will bring up more options. I can select a city, set a specific rain intensity, when and on which days I will receive the alert. After setting all this, click Done in the top right corner and the notification will be ready to use. From there, whenever it rains in the forecast, you will receive a notification about it.
That is all! Sorry, you can’t get notifications for this everything. I’m a big baseball fan and was disappointed that baseball didn’t have an option for sports-related notifications. That said, Hooks still has a ton of alert options that make it worth having on your iPhone. You might still need to keep your other apps like MLB At Bat if you want to receive baseball notifications, but I can already get rid of ESPN, weather apps, and a few entertainment apps that give me notifications for new TV shows and movies.
