As we move away from the release date of the iPhone 12 series, we keep hearing about the issues owners are facing. These include crashes and freezes. These problems are very common on iPhone and fortunately they are usually very easy to fix.
If your iPhone 12 freezes and you can’t shut it down normally, you may need to hard reset it. This process only takes a few seconds and should restore your device to a normal state. It doesn’t delete any data, it just forces your iPhone to restart.

If you’ve upgraded from an iPhone 12 model older than iPhone X to an iPhone 12 model, you may not be aware of the force restart process. You must use a new button combination. Here is what you need to do to fix your frozen iPhone 12, iPhone 12 mini, iPhone 12 Pro or iPhone 12 Pro Max.
Hard Reset iPhone 12
Instead of the old process that required you to hold down two buttons to force restart the iPhone, you now have to quickly press two buttons and then hold down a third button. It may take a few tries to master, but once you do, you should be good to go into the future.
If your iPhone 12 is unresponsive to touch and swipe gestures, here’s what to do:

- until the Apple logo appears on the screen.
You have to press the volume up and down buttons very quickly, but not at the same time. As for the side button, this is what Apple calls the power button on newer devices. After holding down the side button for a few seconds, your iPhone 12 should reboot itself.
If you have to do this often, you should try resetting all of your device’s settings in the Settings app. In some cases, you may need to talk to Apple customer service and see if they have a solution to your problems.
Note that your iPhone is under warranty and you may need to send it in for repair or replacement.
