Restart Your Windows 10 PC
If the Taskbar search area on your computer is not working at all, your first move is to reboot the system. You need to completely shut down your device and then restart it.
Shut down your computer by right clicking inside the Taskbar. It’s in the lower left corner of your screen. This will open a dropdown menu.
Inside the drop-down menu, click on Shut Down or Sign Out.

Wait for your PC to log you out and shut down completely. Once you have it, use the power button to turn it back on.
Once your PC is back on, try clicking the Taskbar search again. This time, the popup with Cortana and your search results should work.
Change Your Screen Size
