Many Galaxy S III users are reporting issues with WiFi connection on the new phone and it seems my AT&T Galaxy S III is also suffering from this WiFi error.
I just got the phone yesterday and saw inconsistency when using Wi-Fi with my Netgear router. There are a number of different Galaxy S III WiFi issues that hinder the Galaxy S III experience.
There are a number of WiFi issues as documented in a forum post at . XDA Developer Forum.
While the post is quite long, Galaxy S III WiFi issues boil down to 4 main complaints.
For users experiencing any of these issues, here are the solutions you can try. Like many user fixes, these solutions do not work for every Galaxy S III.
For my problem – frequent outages and reconnections – I just connected to a different frequency. My router offers both 5 GHz and 2.4 GHz connections. I was using 5GHz 802.11a/n connection on my router. Switching to a 2.4 GHz 802.11b/g/n connection has resolved the issue for me so far.
A second solution some users have tried is to open the Phone app and dial *#0011#. This opens a custom “ServiceMode”. From here, tap the menu button and navigate into it and then press the button to change. Press the back button twice to exit the screen.
A third solution that might help in addition to the above involves turning a few Wi-Fi settings off. From the Wi-Fi settings on the S III go to the Advanced menu and uncheck and.
So, one, two or three of these fixes might work for users experiencing any of the Samsung Galaxy S III Wi-Fi connectivity issues. If not, contact the technical support people for the phone’s wireless carrier and request a solution. Many users reported that a new handset on XDA fixed the problem.
