If you haven’t updated your apps in a while, go to your apps and Google Play Store and check out the updates available to you.
Be sure to read reviews from Nougat users before installing a new version of your favorite app. Nougat is compatible with most apps, but there are also some rotten apples.
Use Device Maintenance
If you notice an abnormal amount of lag and stutter after installing Android Nougat on your device, check out Device Maintenance.
On the Settings screen of the Galaxy S7, tap Device Maintenance and then go to RAM. Check the apps from the list of apps and tap on Clean Now to reduce the amount of RAM your device is using.
Use Nougat’s Performance Mod
The Galaxy S7 Nougat update is packed with some great features, including the new Performance Mode functionality. Performance Mode is found in Device Maintenance.
Performance Mode includes a Normal Mode for everyday use, a Game Mode for gaming, a Entertainment Mode, and a High Performance Mode to use the highest quality settings.

Mute S
Samsung’s equivalent to Apple’s Siri, S Voice can be very useful. If you trust this, this step will be a difficult one to take.
If you can (temporarily or permanently) do without S Voice, you may see an increase in the performance of your Galaxy S7. S Voice can be a resource hog.
To completely disable S Voice on your Galaxy S7, go to Application Manager, find S Voice, tap on it and tap on Disable.
If you determine that your device is not responsible for its poor performance in Nougat, you can always re-enable S Voice.

Use Another Launcher
If none of these fixes helped and you want to replace Samsung Experience (TouchWiz) with another launcher, it’s probably worth a try.
Samsung has made some improvements to the UI, but it can still seem cumbersome and still plays a role in your device’s performance. Potentially, a negative one.
We highly recommend you to try the popular Nova Launcher. Google Play store. Nova Launcher comes with tons of customization options that can help you control your device’s performance.
Try Rooting Nougat
If you’ve exhausted all these steps and your performance is still not good enough, it may be time to take a more drastic approach.
You can try to root Galaxy S7 Nougat. The developers recently released a working root for the Qualcomm-powered versions of the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge, and it might be worth a try if you’re running out of options and/or time.
Rooting allows you to delete apps and services that you normally can’t get rid of. The Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge are full of bloat, especially carrier models.

Start from scratch
This step should only be used as a last resort and only after you have backed up all your important files in the cloud or on a microSD card.
If your performance has gotten out of control, it may be worth starting from scratch. In other words, delete everything on your phone and start over.
There’s a good chance this will help you gain control over the performance of your Galaxy S7, but know that it will be a time-consuming process, especially if your device has loads of apps, files, and customizations.
To do this in Nougat go to Settings > General management > Reset > Factory data reset > Reset Device > Erase All.
