Gardner Bender sells Liquid Tape, which can protect and protect your Macbook charger from any other damage. This is white electrical tape in liquid form, so it’s safe to use on a charger and will look better than wrapping black electrical tape around your charger.

Paint the worn area with Liquid Tape and let it dry for about an hour. This will insulate the electrical part and help prevent further damage and wear. You can also use this to repair iPhone and iPad charging cables with similar damage.

There is a small brush inside the box that you can use to apply, but you may also want to purchase a small foam or regular paint brush to apply. Schedule an hour for it to dry and make sure you apply it in a well-ventilated area.

You’ll need a flathead screwdriver, wire strippers, crazy glue, a hot glue gun, a soldering iron, and zippers. You can buy these from iFixit or a local hardware store. If you already own some of these tools or are going to reuse them, that’s a good deal, because buying them all just for this project can add up quickly.
