note: If you have a Logitech headset that does not support surround sound, the following procedure will not work. I enabled and tested surround sound on my Logitech G933 wireless surround sound gaming headset using Logitech Gaming software on Windows 10. So if you have a compatible headset and operating system, you should be able to run it.
- First of all, you have to Download and install Logitech Gaming software from the company support website. The software is available for both Windows and Mac devices, so if you’re using an unsupported operating system like Linux, you’re out of luck.
- When you open the software, go to headphone sectionby clicking on the arrow icon located at the bottom of the window.
- Now, go to the surround sound section by clicking on the icon. 7.1 symbol located at the bottom of the window. When done, click on power icon located right next to surround sound to enable the feature.
- Now if you have a Logitech G430, G633 or G933 surround sound headset, Switch between Dolby 7.1 Surround sound and DTS Headphone X profiles. However, if you have a relatively newer headset like the G433 or G533, you cannot switch as it only supports the DTS Headphone X profile. Additionally, for the DTS profile you will be able to: Switch between Super Stereo Front and Wide modes.
- Once complete, you may want to check if the surround sound feature is working properly. To do this, simply click on it. “Experience surround sound” to listen to a directional audio clip and make sure all your virtual surround sound channels are working properly. Here you will also be able to: adjust the volume of each of these surround channels individually according to your preferences.
- Logitech Gaming software combines multiple surround sound profiles for many popular games on the market. To check if any profile is available for any of your games, simply click on it and go to the Profiles section. key icon located at the bottom of the window. Now, under the Profiles section, there is a scan icon just below the search bar. Click that and wait for the software to scan and download the latest game profiles available. All profiles of supported games will now appear in the Profiles section.
- When done, go back to the surround sound section in the software and check the box. “Enable surround sound per profile”. A list of profiles will now appear for all supported games. Simply click on your preferred game to enable the surround profile for that game.
