Microsoft Teams is slowly gaining new features and is becoming a powerful alternative to Zoom and Google Meet. A while ago, Microsoft introduced the Gathering Mode in Teams to make everyone feel right at the office, and now it’s introducing another key feature: AI-based background noise cancellation. You can now enable noise cancellation in Microsoft Teams to significantly suppress background noise in real time. If you don’t want to be distracted while in a meeting or on a call, turning on noise canceling in Microsoft Teams is a must. So, without further ado, let’s move on to the steps.
Enable Noise Cancellation in Microsoft Teams
Before we continue, we should note that noise canceling in Microsoft Teams is currently only available in windows app and is gradually being rolled out to all users. If you don’t have the feature, be patient and wait for a new update. The best part is that the feature is available to everyone – both paid and free users, which is great. Other than that, let’s get started.
1. To enable noise canceling in Microsoft Teams, open your profile Located in the upper right corner and click on “Settings”.
2. In the left pane, “devicesSearch for ” and “Noise Suppression”.
3. Finally, select “Auto”. suppress noise automatically choose “High” if there is a lot of Ambient noise around you when you are in a meeting, but be aware that this will consume more resources on your PC. Similarly, you can reduce the noise cancellation level by selecting the “Low” option.
Note: Noise Suppression is not available if the call is being recorded or live captioning is on.
4. Once you’ve done that, go ahead and make a call in Microsoft Teams. You’ll find that Microsoft’s artificial intelligence does its magic and suppresses the noise around you.
5. You can also enable and manage noise cancellation levels in Microsoft Teams. while on a call. Click the 3-dot menu in the upper right corner and select “Device Settings”.
6. Find “Noise suppression” item here and change noise canceling level from the drop-down menu.
7. If you want disable noise canceling Open your profile in Microsoft Teams -> Settings -> Devices -> Noise Cancellation -> Select “Off” from the drop-down menu.
Enable Noise Suppression During Calls in Microsoft Teams
This is how you can enable and use noise suppression during calls in Microsoft Teams. If you live in a noisy environment, you’d better enable this feature.
