Before we detail the steps to enable or disable this feature, let’s understand what it has to offer and why you should consider turning it on.
What is a Statement Summary and How Does It Work?
Notification Summary is designed so that you can follow non-urgent notifications seamlessly. When enabled, “intelligently compiles all the less important alerts and ensures that you receive them in a fairly organized package at the appropriate times.”
Depending on your needs, you can choose preferred apps for your summary. To make your task of selecting apps easier, Notification Summary automatically ranks apps based on daily notification average. This makes it easy to find essential apps whose alerts you want to monitor. After selecting apps, you can set when you want to receive a Notification Summary. Thus, keeping track of non-urgent alerts becomes an effortless experience.
It is worth noting that calls, messages and time sensitive notifications will be delivered immediately even for apps in notification summary.
Enable Notification Digest on iPhone
- start Settings app on your iPhone.
2. Now, “Notifications“.
3. Then, “Scheduled Summary” choice.
4. Change the switch right next to “Scheduled Summary” to enable the feature.
5. Now, tap on “.Go on” and then select the apps for your summary. Tap on “Add [x] applications“When you’re done.
6. Next, set a schedule for your notification summary. Note that you can add multiple notification summaries. For example, you can choose to receive a notification summary three times a day, morning, afternoon, and evening. Tap on “ to schedule a summary.Add Summary” and select the time you want to see the summary.
7. After customizing the program according to your needs, be sure to tap on “.Open Notification Summary” at the bottom.
This much! You have successfully created a customized Notification Summary on your iOS 15 device. From now on, iOS 15 will send you a bundle of all non-urgent notifications whenever you want. You can also preview scheduled summaries in Notification Center.
Customize Notification Summary on iPhone
iOS 15 gives you full control over the apps you want to add to the Notification Summary. So, you can choose allow or disallow alerts from specific apps in the summary to make sure it doesn’t look messy. You can change them at any time and here’s how it works:
1. Now, tap on “.Applications in the Summary“.
2. Next, close/open toggle next to specific apps.
Change Notification Summary Delivery Frequency
You can always change the frequency of notification summaries according to your needs. If you want a single summary at the end of the day or at bedtime, follow these steps:
- go Settings app -> Notifications -> Scheduled Summary.
2. Now, tap on “.Submit Summary”.
3. Finally, select your preferred frequency. You have complete freedom over the number of times your iOS 15 device sends you a Notification Digest, from 1 to 12 times a day.
Disable Notification Summary in iOS 15
If you want to stop receiving the less important notifications pack, you can turn off Notification Summary in settings.
- Open Settings -> Notifications -> Scheduled Summary.
2. Now, turn off the switch next to “.Scheduled Summary“.
