How to Downgrade iOS Apps to Old Versions

While we’re often quite happy when developers provide appropriate updates to their apps, new isn’t always better. Sometimes new features can break things or cause compatibility issues with other apps. Worse still, a developer may decide to remove a feature you love in the new version. Whatever the reason, I’ll show you today How to downgrade to older versions of apps on your beloved iPhone and iPad?:

note: This procedure requires that you have a jailbroken iPhone or iPad, so if you haven’t already, head over to our awesome guide to jailbreak your iDevice running iOS 10.2.

Download Application Manager from Cydia

  • Open Cydiaswitch “Resources” Go to tab and add the following resource:

https://beta.unlimapps.com/ (Don’t forget the “s” after “http”)

  • After successfully adding the resource, “Call” Click on the tab and “Appilacation leader” (without quotes).

  • Tap now “To organise” > “To approve” to start the download process.

  • Tap on “Restart SpringBoard” to complete the download. Application Manager should install successfully at this point.

Install Legacy Versions of iOS Apps using Application Manager

Application Manager helps to install old version of iOS apps directly from App Store. Here’s how to downgrade apps to older versions:

  • Go to the app you want to downgrade to in the App Store. Long tap on cloud-like icon and a menu opens.

If you don’t see the cloud-like icon, try long tapping on it. “Open” or “Update” button. The current version of the application must be installed before downgrading.

note: For undownloaded apps, tap the download icon and cancel the download immediately. You should now see a cloud icon.

  • Choose “downgrade“from the menu.

  • It will now list all the old versions available for download. Tap the version you want to downgrade to and the download should start automatically.
