How to Disable Link Preview in iOS 13 Safari on iPhone and iPad

Safari for iOS 13 has a few notable features like the download manager and the option to automatically close all tabs. But the new addition I hate is the ability to show a link preview of any web page. While the link preview is useful for many people who want to take a look at what a particular web page has to offer before visiting the site, this feature did not go well for my liking. Most of the time, when I long-press a link, it’s to copy it and not preview it. And I don’t think I’m the only one who finds this feature boring. Fortunately, there is a quick way to disable webpage previews in Safari on iPhone and iPad. If you (me) are in the same boat, follow the steps to disable Safari link preview in iOS 13 and iPadOS 13.

1. Open Safari on your iPhone or iPad.

2. Now, a web page with a hyperlink. At that time, tap and hold link Until the action page appears with a preview of the selected link.

Now tap and hold a web link

3. Next, tap on it. Hide Link Preview option on the action page.

3. If Apple didn’t change the position of this button in the iOS 13.2 beta update, that should be all for this tutorial. So if you are using iOS 13.2 or later, when you fill it, find the “Hide Link Preview” button at the top as marked in the picture below.

Going forward, when you tap and hold any link, an action page will appear with the destination URL. Just tap on it and you will be redirected to the web page. If you later decide to bring back the link preview, tap and hold any link of a webpage, and then Show Link Previews.

Easily Remove Link Preview in Safari on iOS 13

So you can view link URLs in Safari, keeping unwanted web page previews away. Don’t get me wrong, I still think many iOS users will find it a valuable addition to the stock web browser. It didn’t appeal to my taste as I prefer simplicity and enjoy surfing the web without distractions. But the story may be completely different for many users. By the way, how do you rate this new feature? I would like to get your opinions in the comments.
