It’s no secret that keyboards on Windows laptops aren’t all that great, except for the keyboards found on expensive laptops. From personal experience I’ve found that keyboards go hood right after a year of use. Either some keys stop working immediately or worst of all, some keys are pressed indefinitely, making it difficult to do anything. Disable Laptop Keyboard in Windows 10
1. First of all, connect your external keyboard or enable on-screen keyboard so you have a backup. After that, press Win + R To open the Run menu, type here gpedit.msc
and press enter.

3. When the Group Policy Editor is launched, Go to Administrative Templates -> System -> Device Setup -> Device Setup Restrictions.
4. Here, double click on “Prevent installation of devices not defined by other policy settings” and then enable the policy. After that, click “OK” and restart your computer.
5. Next, press the Windows key once and press “Device Manager“. Now open it.
6. Here, expand the “Keyboards” menu and then Right click on the keyboard entrance. Now, select the “Uninstall device” option. You may be prompted to restart your computer. If there are multiple entries, remove them as well. Make sure you don’t remove the external keyboard if you have it installed.
7. Finally, restart your laptop and this time the laptop keyboard will be disabled in windows 10.
Permanently Disable Laptop Keyboard in Windows 10
This is how you can permanently disable a laptop keyboard in Windows 10. Windows 10 has a feature that automatically installs the driver when it discovers a new device.
