iMessage effects like lasers, confetti, and celebration are fun-loving. To me, it’s just as exciting as funny Memoji stickers and Animojis that don’t lose their appeal. While I love everything about bubble and screen effects, I make sure to turn off autoplay in chat threads, especially when my device is running into battery drain issues. Fortunately, disabling autoplay iMessage on Apple Watch is as simple as on iPhone.

Ideally, the toggle for iMessage auto effects on watchOS would be better located within the Messages app setting. Instead, it went inside the Accessibility setting (on both iOS and watchOS), so most of us don’t know how to stop them from playing automatically in chat threads on the Apple Watch. Not to mention, some of us continue to wonder if there is an option to control these effects. Anyway, let me show you how it works!
- Start To watch app on your paired iPhone.
2. Now, make sure my watch tab is selected. Next, tap on Accessibility.
3. Next, tap on Reduce Motion.

- Reduce Gesture, for those unfamiliar, is designed to restrict the animation and automatic resizing of the Apple Watch UI on the Home screen and when launching and exiting apps.
5. Now turn off the switch right next to it. Auto Play Message Effects To disallow autoplay of full-screen effects in the Messages app
In the future, iMessage effects will not play automatically. If you want to check them, you can tap on them. replay button. Also, if you want to bring these effects back in all their glory, go back to the same setting and then toggle the switch right next to Autoplay Message Effects.

- To disable autoplay message effects on your iPhone, go to Settings app -> Accessibility -> Motion. Now, turn off the Autoplay Message Effects button.
