How to Disable Automatic App Updates in MIUI

Automatic app updates on Android can save you time if you don’t want to spend the effort to manually select and update your apps. However, if you don’t configure it correctly, it can do more harm than good. For example, if you accidentally turned on automatic updates on mobile data plans, you could see all your data used up and see an inflated bill. A big game update is all it takes to eat up your monthly data plan. So it’s always good to configure automatic app updates on your smartphone as soon as you get it. Disable Automatic App Updates on Xiaomi Devices

Disabling automatic app updates is pretty easy and you’ll be able to do it in just a few seconds. Just follow and complete the following steps:

  1. Launch the Google Play Store app and tap on the hamburger menu marked in the image below. Now, tap on “Settings”.

2. Here, tap the “Auto-update apps” setting. As you can see, you will be presented with three options. Select the first option to disable automatic updating of apps.

While you should choose the first option to disable automatic updates. If you have an unlimited WiFi plan at home or office, I recommend choosing the third option “Auto-update apps over WiFi only”. This way, you not only find app updates consuming your mobile data plans, but you also don’t have to manually install app updates.
