How to Deploy Your Spotify Desktop App

Spotify is one of the best audio streaming services for discovering new music, following your favorite artists, and subscribing to podcasts. In the process, your Spotify desktop view will look cluttered and won’t show your preferred artists or genres. You can eliminate this confusion to let Spotify suggest a few new tunes and artists daily.

New artists and song suggestions are welcome, but sometimes Spotify strays from them. Therefore, it is a good idea to clean the plate and start over. Unfortunately, Spotify does not offer this one-click refresh button. So you’ll have to keep track of a lot of things. Here’s how to get started.

1. Remove Liked Songs

When a new song catches your attention on Spotify, liking it is understandable. After all, no one likes to forget the name of a favorite song – just never to hear it again.

At the same time, liking too many songs can quickly break your Spotify app. Often times, users do not like the song again after they lose interest. So you can remove songs you like but no longer listen to, or resist the temptation to like every new song you might like. And it’s easy to do; Just follow the steps below.

Stage 1: Open the Spotify desktop app.

Step 2: Go to Favorite Songs in the left sidebar.

Stage 3: Tap the heart icon next to the song. Spotify will then remove it from your library.

To keep your library lean and find the best pieces more easily, you can check it regularly. Another workaround is to create a playlist and temporarily add songs you like. You can then remove them from playlists. This sounds so much better than loving the songs.

2. Deleting Playlists You Haven’t Listened To

For many people, playlists are the music of their day. They have ones for commuting, going to the gym, working, and everything in between. And as users, we like to argue about which is the best streaming service, Spotify or Apple Music, for reasons like these.

Most of the time, however, you will find that you only listen to a select few. As such, you may have dozens—if not hundreds—of playlists taking up unnecessary space.

It’s a good idea to review your playlists often and delete the ones you haven’t listened to in a while. To do this, follow these steps.

Stage 1: Open the Spotify app.

Step 2: Swipe down on the left sidebar to go to Playlists.

Stage 3: Right-click the playlist you want to delete; If you’re on a Mac, press ctrl and your mouse.

Step 4: Select Delete from the drop-down menu.

Step 5: Confirm that you want to delete the playlist.

If you change your mind, you can recover deleted playlists on Spotify web app.

3. Follow Artists and Users You Haven’t Interacted With

Following artists and users on Spotify is a great way to follow your favorite bands and singers. It’s also useful for tracking the career progression of up-and-coming artists you want to succeed.

But as with social media, not everyone is worth following forever. It’s a bright idea to regularly review your list below to get rid of artists or users you no longer interact with.

If you want to unfollow accounts on Spotify, the steps below are for you.

Stage 1: Go to your profile in the Spotify desktop app.

Stage 3: When it turns to Unfollow, click it and you will unfollow the user.

4. Unsubscribe to Podcasts You Don’t Listen to

Podcasts are useful for learning on the go, especially when you download them and listen to Spotify content offline. The platform also has an excellent selection for almost all interests. But as with music, we usually start listening to one and stop after a short while.

Unsubscribing from podcasts you don’t listen to helps clean up your Spotify interface. To do this, follow the steps below.

Stage 1: In the Spotify app, click on Podcasts in the left sidebar.

Step 2: You will now see a catalog of podcasts you follow. Scroll until you find someone you want to unfollow.
