As a long time console user, I created a bunch of user accounts. Some for work related games, others for personal games and even more for many reasons. The thing is, having multiple accounts isn’t really an issue, but if you log in with all those accounts on your PS5, it will be hard to keep track of what you’re doing on which account. So, if you have too many user accounts on your console, here is how to delete PS5 accounts.
Delete User Accounts
Deleting a user account from PlayStation 5 is quite simple. Here’s how you can delete your user account from a PS5.
- Go to Settings -> Users & Accounts.
- Here, select ‘Users’.

- Select the trash can next to the username you want to remove from your PS5 and press the X button on the DualSense controller to delete the user.
Delete PlayStation Network Account
On the other hand, if for any reason you wish to delete your entire PSN account, you will have to do so via the Sony website. Here’s what you need to do.
- go to sony Web site and click ‘Contact Us’.
- Select ‘Account & Security’ and then submit a ticket using the Live Chat feature with your email id and PSN id.
Obviously I haven’t tried this method, but your request will be completed in a few days and then your account will be permanently deleted.
Note, however, that deleting your PSN account will also remove any funds you have added to your PS Wallet. These funds cannot be transferred to your bank account, so you lose money there. You will also lose access to any games and apps you have downloaded or purchased, as well as your progress in various games. You will also lose any subscriptions you have paid for.
Basically, make sure to delete your PSN account only in the most extreme cases when you have no other choice. Because once done, there is no way to recover deleted stuff.
Clean Up Your Console by Deleting Accounts
Having too many user accounts on your PS5 won’t affect things too much. However, it makes it difficult to choose the right account to log in. In any case, if you have more than one account on your PS5, you should always use a password for your PS5 user account. You should also password protect your PS5 purchases to prevent accidental purchases from your card.
So, how many user accounts do you have on your PS5? Are you deleting any? Let us know in the comments.
