It’s been almost a week since iOS 7 was released, and tons of iPhone and iPad users have already downloaded and installed the new update on their devices. The first thing you might have noticed was the all-new look, but Apple says much of the UI experience remains the same. However, some features have changed a bit, causing many old iOS users to learn new tricks.
When deleting certain iMessages and text messages on iOS 6 and older, simply tap the Edit button in the top right corner and select the messages you want to delete. In iOS 7, it’s a little different and a little more confusing. However, we will show you how to do it to get rid of those embarrassing messages on your phone.
Deleting Messages and Texts
To delete a specific iMessage or text message, open the Messages app and tap a conversation if you haven’t already. Now, tap and hold the specific message you want to delete in the chat; A drop-down menu will appear, allowing you to copy the text or select more options. Tap on it
This brings up circles to the left of each message in the conversation, and a checkmark automatically appears on the specific message you tap and hold. You can select more messages if you want me to tap the circles next to each message. After selecting all the messages you want to delete, tap the trash icon in the lower left corner. A pop-up will appear confirming the action; Tap to complete the deletion.

Deleting All ConversationsIf you just want to delete the entire chat, there are several ways to do it. You can open the Messages app, where it shows a list of conversations you’ve had with people, and then swipe left on one of them. A big red delete button pops up and you just have to tap it to delete that conversation.
The second way to delete a chat is to open a chat, long tap on a message like you did before and then tap on it. Then tap in the top left corner to delete all messages from that conversation. This option will keep that person in your conversation list, but all messages will be deleted.
