How to Delete Google Assistant Voice Search History

Google Assistant was officially launched with first-generation Pixel phones last year, but has grown to become one of the most popular voice-based personal digital assistants in the world alongside Amazon’s Alexa, Microsoft’s Cortana, and Apple’s Siri. In fact, it has recently reached all other Android phones besides iOS. However, not everyone who uses this feature realizes that the search giant records and stores absolutely every little voice call request from all its users. While we can turn off Google’s creepy habit of recording all our verbal interactions with Assistant and saving it for future generations, doing so will impact our ability to verbally interact with the AI-based system. However, Google gives us the option to get rid of all traces of our interactions with Assistant from our Google Account history. First, you need to decide from the start whether you want to delete just a few individual conversations or your entire Google Assistant history. Both are pretty simple and the steps are almost the same regardless of whether you’re on Android or iOS. So let’s start by taking a look at what to do if you only want to delete a specific conversation.

Delete a Specific Question or Conversation

  • To do this, you must first Launch Google Assistant. On Android you only need to say the magic words “OK, Google”, whereas on iOS devices you have to start the app manually. After opening the app on your device, just tap the little arrow You’ll see it at the top of the Assistant window, which should allow you to access your entire history from the first time you use the feature.
  • Scroll the list to find the item you want to delete, then tap and hold that item until it is highlighted. You will be presented with several options at this stage, but all you have to do is Select “Delete Group”. That’s it, the specific conversation will be deleted from your account history.

Clear All Google Assistant Activity from the Beginning

  • While you can delete your entire Google Assistant history as described above, if you’ve been using the service for a while, removing one conversation at a time will be a tedious and tedious process.
