This guide will show you how to delete Awakening Black Ops 3 DLC from your PS4, PC and Xbox One.
Treyarch does not include an Disable Awakening DLC button in the PS4 version to allow you to return to playing the stock maps and rejoin the main matchmaking pool. You can easily disable Black Ops 3 DLC on PC and it is possible on Xbox One as well.
On PS4 and Xbox One, you won’t gain any hard drive space as the maps will still be on your console. On PC you will need to redownload the maps or make a backup of your Steam game.
The biggest reason some players want to delete the Awakening Black Ops 3 DLC is because when you install the DLC, you’re just playing matchmaking with other players who own the DLC. This limits the pool of players you can match.

How to Delete Awakening Black Ops 3 DLC on Xbox One
It takes less than 30 seconds to delete Awakening Black Ops 3 DLC from Xbox One. You can reinstall the DLC in a few minutes whenever you want to play.
- On your Xbox One, go to My Games & Apps.
- Select Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 and press the menu button.
- Select Manage game.
- Select the Awakening Black Ops 3 DLC subfile and press the menu button.
- Then choose uninstall.
That’s all it takes to delete Black Ops 3 DLC on Xbox One. You can go to the Xbox Store to reinstall whenever you want to play. No need to buy again. The maps are still on your console, but the unlock part of the DLC is no longer there, so you’re playing in the general matchmaking pool.
How to Delete PC Black Ops 3 DLC
You can right click Black Ops 3 on PC. Select Features and then DLC. Then uncheck the Awakening DLC pack. This will force you to download the 5.9GB file again if you want to play the DLC.

How To Disable Awakening Black Ops 3 DLC On PS4.
You can use two methods to delete the Awakening Black Ops 3 DLC and play the main maps, but this is a complex process that relies on creating a new account or contacting Sony to request a refund or simply canceling the DLC license.
You cannot delete the Awakening Black Ops 3 DLC from your PS4 as it is part of the Black Ops 3 update.

If you want to disable Black Ops 3 DLC on PS4, you will have to spend some time and possibly some money.
On Reddit WickedColdFront shares How they were able to play in the main matchmaking pool without the DLC maps.
The only way I could “disable” the DLC was to create a separate PSN account (I needed to purchase an additional PS Plus subscription) and disable the “set as primary” option on my existing PSN account. Now if I want to “activate” the DLC, I will activate the main account as primary and I can play on the DLC maps.”
Of course with this method you will have to buy a second PS Plus subscription for every user which is not worth it. It’s not clear whether you’ll need to start over with your Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 rank using this method, but it seems likely.
The other method is to contact Sony and ask them to cancel the license of the Awakening Black Ops 3 DLC. The video in Error 6 below explains this process and how it helps. In this case, it received a refund, but you may not receive it. If you go this route, you won’t be able to unlock the DLC again.
Overall this is a tough spot for PS4 users who bought the Awakening Black Ops 3 DLC.
