How to Customize Apple Watch App View

Sometimes placing all apps in “List View” does the trick for me. Other times, rearranging the app icons gives the app look a slightly refreshed look. Tips for Customizing the Apple Watch App View

watchOS lets you choose between two types of views: List and Grid. List View sorts all installed apps in Apple pie order (aka alphabetical scroll view), while grid view (also known as honeycomb view) arranges app icons in a hexagonal grid. Moreover, the grid view gives you the flexibility to place circular clock app icons wherever you want for a custom look and feel.

Switching between list and grid view is pretty easy on watchOS.

  1. Start Settings app On your Apple Watch.

2. Now, tap on Application View.

  • List view: Places apps in alphabetical order.
  • Grid View: Arranges apps in a hexagonal grid. It is selected by default.

Note:

  • It’s worth noting that Apple has slightly changed the process of switching between list and grid view in watchOS 7 due to the removal of Force Touch.
  • In watchOS 6 or earlier, you can tap and hold the Apple Watch home screen and then choose your preferred view. In the Force Touch era, this was pretty simple.

Changing the app view is as easy as using the Watch app for iOS.

  1. start watch app on your iPhone.

Rearrange Apple Watch Apps in Grid View Using iPhone

While watchOS doesn’t offer an option to tweak the list view, you get the option to rearrange apps in grid view using the Watch app on iPhone.

  1. Hungry watch app on your iPhone and then Application View.

2. Now, make sure Grid View chosen. Next, tap on Adjustment.

3. Finally, touch and hold an app icon and place it in the preferred spot. Well, you can choose to keep all your favorite games on one side and put your workout apps/expense trackers on the other for quick access.
